Kickass Star Pic

27 Dec

planetary-nebulae.jpg

I just thought this was super cool. From Earth and Sky, it’s an exploding star called a planetary nebulae. Planetary nebulae are the remains of sun-like stars that have reached the end of their red giant stage. Get the skinny here.

Stuff like this fascinates me. I’m just goofy like that.

Update: Another cool one…

This has nothing to do with the star, but i thought i would share a cool new site i found. http://getrichslowly.org/blog/

i used advice from one of the msg boards to change our emergency fund over to an online savings account that actually pays interest instead of our .05% Wells fargo account. What a novel idea!! i actuall get something (3.5%-5.5%, depending on the mrkt, currently 4.6%) for leting the bank use my money all year long!

i ended up using emigrant direct, and am in the process of getting things going. i will keep you posted.

We’ve had our e-fund with online bank ING Direct for a couple of years. It’s paying 4.1% right now, so that’s 40 bucks a year…
