Gladiators, Ready?

07 Jan

titan_014.jpgIt’s back. The show my brother and I used to rush home from chores every Saturday noon to watch and cheer for. American Gladiators made a return to NBC last night, with the Hulkster and Ali’s boxing daughter as hosts. I don’t watch the tube much–especially anything that’s not on Discovery or History Channels–but I wasn’t gonna miss this one.

Who wouldn’t want to watch grown ups run, jump, hoot and holler like 10 year old boys on the playground–from the living room couch. It’s the athletes who couldn’t make the DI roster, talkin’ trash to the steroid fuming gladiators twice their size (and that’s the women). Good stuff.

I didnt miss it either. I was wildly entertained, however i thought the gladiators (with the exception of Titan) were a little less roided out than they were when we were kids.

Maybe i think that only because i was 10 yrs old then.

Seems to me like the Eliminator is too hard now. Most of the contenders can barely even finish it. That damn backwards, uphill escalator looks like a killer…

Ok, now you guys are scaring me. I can still remember a couple of times when you and the cousins thought you could play the Gladiator Games at home…
