Check out this cool new website from Stephen Chow: Stephen built this simple little site by triking out google maps. It lets us “Worm People” find each other and shout out to the world about the super coolness of raising composting worms (Red Wigglers, actually). Here’s my listing (those are actually uncle Carl’s hands full of my worms on delivery day last fall–I need to update the pic). You can add yours too!

So, how are the Bartmann worms doing? Well, they’ve survived a near death experience this winter when I almost froze them, and a few of them have made a trip or two to the Daycare during Earth Week (the kiddos were learning about recycling and Mesa brought the sweetest show-and-tell). Right now they’re munching on some banana peels, sweet potatoes and carrots, mostly. They love the potatoes and dig the bananas. Not so crazy on the carrots though. It’s just about time to harvest the compost. I’ll put together a tutorial video and slideshow or something when I do it. Of course, this will be the very first harvest of worm compost at our house, so hopefully I don’t screw it up too badly…

PS–Happy Birthday Little Sis!
